After a fun week in New York I finally arrived in London. I was very excited to spend the week in London even though I knew I was out there to work. I arrived on Monday and went strait to the office which became a short day due to the jet lag. After going to the hotel for a quick power nap and to freshen up I went to dinner with a group of co-workers. The reception I received from my UK co-workers was extremely warm.
After pushing through trying to change my sleep patterns on the first night; (of course with some assistance from a sleep aid) I was invited to see the group The Underworld who is from London with a co-worker and his friends. It was a great night of techno music at the round house, which I was told is the best venue to see a show like that.. The next few nights I took it easy. Mostly to make sure I could stay out on Friday for the Rugby finals, which was between England and South Africa. Once again a co-worker invited me to watch the game in a local London pub with a group of friends. When I arrived at the pub I noticed that everyone in the place was wearing the England team’s colors which made sense since we were in England, however one person in our group was wearing the South Africa team colors. After inquiring I found out that it was pretty save to route for either team. I guess it was me just equating the England rugby fans to Bronco fans.
Saturday came around and Jeff and I, who is also from the States, decided to walk around London and catch up on some of the sites. Although we had both been to London previously we both enjoyed just walking around the city and seeing the standard sites such as Big Ben, Westminster Abby….ect. While walking around we spotted what appeared to be a festival of some kind. Once we got there we found out that it was a Islamic awareness event, so we got or free Koran and moved on. Sunday was pretty much filled with the same events of checking out the different sites prior to leaving for Nigeria.

Moose Fest
So when Ben first emailed me about moose fest my first response was; "I don't hunt, why on earth would I go to moose fest?" But it turns out that this is a kayaking festival in upstate New York. Who would have thunk it.... Moose fest turned out to be a great time. The area is absolutely beautiful. We stayed in Ben's family cabin which was just 40 minutes away from the Moose River. Six of us arrived at the airport in Albany to rent an Cadilac Escalade to transport ourselves to moose fest. Hence the gangster want-a-be signs throughout the photos. While at moose fest we meet four boaters from Germany who became an instant fit to our posse and ended up staying with us at the cabin for the weekend. We also ran into Chris who the boys knew from boating and he lives in Breckenridge. Which was a bit unexpected.
It turned out that Megan and I were the only women on the trip which was fine by us, however since we weren't boating we became the river support. But this was not all so bad the hiking and following the river was a great time for us. Moose Fest can definitely expect some western boaters again.

New York
So first stop New York, New York!! My mom tried to say that New York is more dangerous then Nigeria which is yet to be determined. However, our experience was that it was one of the friendliest cities out there. And of course the highlights where Central Park and great dinning for me.
This trip was originally planned by Beth who lives in California and is now officially dubed the "girls trip" planner. So the trip included Beth her friend Summer from Maryland and myself. We stayed right in time square at the Regency hotel. And would walk everywhere during the day and eat a great meal every night. We also checked out the night life in the city which was more lounges then clubs we avoided anywhere that had a cover charge. And since this was my last week in the states for a while it only made sense that I would meet people from other countries. So that may help me for a while since I hope to stay international for a while with work.
My trip to the city was too short, I only spent three days and two nights there before I had to run upstate for Moosefest.

Long Trip
Well as many of you know I will be off to work in Nigeria, Africa. It feels like my long journey begins tomorrow morning, to which I fly to New York for a crazy vacation and then will return home for a night before flying off to London. There I will officially begin working with Cityscape Nigeria and hopefully get adjusted to the time difference. After a week in London I will then be heading to Lagos Nigeria to begin working on site.
For all you out there who worry I will be flying into Nigeria with three other co-workers and will be greeted by a guard and driver.
